About Us

The Company
The Iran Media Service was founded in 2000 when Jason Rezaian began writing about Iran for US publications. What began as several articles aimed at showing Iran to Americans in a more representative light, has grown to an operation that now provides resources to other Western journalists and production crews assigned to Iran. We've also ventured into filmmaking, colloborating on the documentary, "A World Between."

Jason Rezaian – Founder/Director
As an Iranian American who has lived most of his life in the United States, while maintaining strong ties with Iran, I bring a unique perspective to covering Iran. My experience as an Iranian media advisor is varied, having consulted for network news programs and major magazines, but also freelancers and independent documentary filmmakers. In each case I strive to help insure a profitable experience for my clients, providing them with background information, useful contacts and creating a feasible itinerary that will maximize their time and budget in Iran.

I’ve also written many articles on Iran and produced and appear in a feature length documentary about Iran and am available to publications and television networks unable to send journalists to Iran.

I am one of a very few United States citizens who is able to freely travel to and from Iran, and work there as well.

“In the course of producing my book, The Crisis [Little, Brown & Co., 2004] Jason Rezaian has been of great assistance to me as a reporter and research assistant.  He has conducted interviews on my behalf inside Iran, as well as helping me locate documentary information on Iranian subjects.  All of the work he did for me was first rate and his insights into Iran were of great use.”
